The George Mason men's basketball team goes for history on Tuesday night as the Patriots attempt to win a school-record 12 straight games, traveling to VCU. Mason has not won at the Siegel Center since the 2005-06 season, but can clinch at least a share of the CAA regular season crown with a win ... VCU sits one game back of the Patriots in the conference standings at 12-3, falling 70-59 at home on Saturday afternoon to ODU.  The loss snapped the Rams' 22-game home win streak. Four VCU players average double-figure scoring, led by Jamie Skeen's 14.9 points-per-game average. He is also the top rebounder, grabbing 7.7 boards per game ... For the second week in a row, Mason has received votes in both major polls. The ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll has the Patriots 26th overall with 30 votes, while the latest Associated Press Top 25 Poll, the Patriots received 28 votes by the media which ranks them 30th nationally. Prior to last week, Mason last received votes in both polls at the same time on Nov. 19, 2007, while Mason had one vote in the AP poll on Feb. 1 last year.
