Returning from a road contest, the George Mason women's basketball team plays host to No. 5 Maryland on Sunday in the Patriot Center as the Patriots look to rebound from a loss and the Terrapins look for 11th-straight victory. Mason plays host to a top 10 opponent for the first time since 2005 when then-No. 6 Maryland visited Fairfax.

At UMBC, Janaa Pickard led Mason with a career-high 17 points as the Patriots dropped a tough 65-53 decision in RAC Arena. Amber Easter added 14 points in the contest as Mason lost the rebounding edge for only the third time this season. Mason is paced offensively by two-time CAA Co-Player of the Week Taleia Moton with a 22.8 points per game average.

Maryland enters Sunday's contest with its best start to a season since the 2007-08 campaign. The Terrapins moved into the No. 5 spot in the latest Associated Press poll this past week and are also ranked No. 6 in the Coaches' Poll. Maryland is paced offensively by Alyssa Thomas with a 15.7 points per game average.
