The George Mason women's basketball teams plays its first of two December games on the road Thursday, traveling to UMBC for a 7 p.m. matchup inside RAC Arena. The Patriots and Retrievers will meet for the ninth time in program history Thursday night.

Mason, currently on a six-game win streak, is led offensively by Taleia Moton with a 24.7 points per game average. Moton, a two-time CAA Co-Player of the Week honoree, ranks third in the nation in scoring. Rahneeka Saunders leads the team on the glass, pulling down 8.0 boards per game on average.

UMBC enters Thursday's matchup having won two of the past four contests. The Retrievers are led by Erin Brown with 16.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game averages, respectively. With a 2-2 home record, UMBC will look for its fifth win of the season and first over Mason since 2008.
