The George Mason men's basketball team looks to begin a new winning streak at home Friday night as they host Manhattan. The Patriots have captured victories over the Jaspers in each of their prior two meetings ... Manhattan stands at 8-4 on the season and comes to Fairfax riding a five-game winning streak. The Jaspers have picked up victories over two Colonial Athletic Association foes in back-to-back games, defeating Hofstra in Hempstead 68-59 on Dec. 10 before a 81-62 win at Towson on Tuesday night. George Beamon powers the Manhattan offense, averaging 16.3 points per game while Roberto Colonette leads the rebounding effort with six boards per game ... The Patriots have amassed a record of 19-15 against members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, facing nine of the 10 member schools with Siena being the lone exception. This is the third straight year that Mason has squared off against a MAAC foe, all coming in Fairfax ... Mason next breaks for the holidays and returns to action on the road next Friday, facing College of Charleston at 7 p.m.
