Riding a three-game winning streak, the George Mason men's basketball team opens up Colonial Athletic Association play on Saturday night traveling to Towson. The Patriots have never lost to the Tigers as a member of the Colonial Athletic Association, with the last loss coming in 1993, a 78-71 defeat in Towson ... Towson begins conference play looking for its first win of the season, as the Tigers are 0-6. Averaging just over 50 points per game, Towson has suffered double-digit losses in each game this season, including a 86-56 loss on Wednesday at UMass. Robert Nwanko leads the Tigers with 13 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, while Marcas Damas averages 10.3 points per outing ... The Patriots have been successful in their first Colonial Athletic Association games of the season, with a 15-11 record overall. Included in that is five straight victories, most recently a 80-52 win over UNCW nearly one year ago. Mason has won seven of its last nine CAA openers, with the losses coming at Old Dominion (54-53) in 2005 and 61-49 at Drexel in December 2006.
