Coming off a 5-3 victory over Towson, the George Mason men's
soccer team hits the road traveling to face top-seeded and 17th-ranked
James Madison on Saturday. In the past six regular season meetings, Mason owns
a 2-3-1 record when facing the Dukes.
Ryan Gracia scored the game-winning goal to lead the Patriots
past the Tigers Wednesday night as the senior scored his first two goals of the
season in the contest. Taylor Morgan ranks fourth in the league with a
team-high eight goals. Goalkeepers Sean Cote and Dustin Butcher have split time
in the net, combining for 26 saves and a 1.11 goals against average.
The Dukes are paced by Patrick Innes with a
team-high nine goals, while Christian McLaughlin leads the team with seven
assists. In the net, Justin Epperson has gotten the start in all 11 matches and
owns a 1.06 goals against average. JMU sits atop the CAA standings alongside
Old Dominion, both with 4-1 conference marks. The Dukes, ranked No. 17 by
Soccer America, are also ranked 34th by Top Drawer Soccer and are receiving
votes in the latest NSCAA poll.
