NEWS & NOTES
After a three-game road swing, the George Mason women's soccer team returns home to play host to James Madison in Colonial Athletic Association play on Sunday. The Patriots and Dukes faced each other twice last season, with JMU walking away with both wins. After regulation, the conference foes stood tied 1-1 in the semifinals of the CAA Tournament, forcing a shootout. The Dukes took the victory 6-5 in penalty kicks and advanced to win the league title.
The Patriots continue to be led by Tiana Kallenberger who boasts a team-best four goals and 11 points on the season. Nicole Clark paces the team with four assists. Goalkeepers Alex Bodenschatz and Lyndse Hokanson have split time in the net, combining for 62 saves and a 1.85 goals against average.
Lauren Wilson leads James Madison, also with four goals on the year. Wilson and Becky Sparks each lead the Dukes with four assists apiece. Goalkeeper Kate Courter has earned the start in 11 matches this season, making 49 stops and owns a 1.18 goals against average. The Dukes are regionally-ranked No. 7 in the latest NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional poll.
