The George Mason women's basketball team wrapped up its five-game homestand undefeated and opened Colonial Athletic Association play with a victory for the first time in three seasons. The Patriots defeated Georgia State 71-47 led by Ashleigh Braxton with a game-high 19 points and Brittany Poindexter adding 10 points. Both teams carry 7-5 overall records and 1-0 conference marks into the contest. ODU opened conference play at Towson, taking the contest 69-63 propelled by Alena Voronina's career-high 25 points. The Lady Monarchs are led by Jasmine Parker who averages 13.8 points per game.
