Sever Named One of Nation's Top Freshmen

George Mason men's soccer freshman Wesley Sever was named as one of the nation's top 100 freshman by College Soccer News this past week. The forward was one of the players in Mason's highly regarded 2010 recruiting class which was rated 13th in the nation by the same publication.

Sever, a native of Belleair, Fla., was the Florida 2A State Player of the Year and a three-time state champion. He played club soccer for the Clearwater Chargers of the USSF Academy. Sever was a member of the U-18 National Team Camp in 2009. He has started five of Mason's six matches this year

The Patriots are 4-2-0 this season with both losses coming against nationally-ranked programs, Maryland and Penn. Mason will open CAA play on Saturday night when the Patriots play at Old Dominion at 7 p.m.
