Omolyn Davis had three goals and three assists last week as Mason swept a pair of games in improving to 3-2-1 on the year. For her play on the field, she was named CAA Co-Player of the Week.
Davis scored the game-winner against American as Mason rallied for a 2-1 win with a pair of goals in the final 15 minutes. That victory gave Mason head coach Diane Drake the 100th win of her career. The Patriots followed that victory with a 7-0 win over VMI. In that contest, Davis assisted on three Mason scores while putting two in net on her own. She tied the school record for single-game assists which had previously been set by Sherry Worsham in 1994 and tied by Christine Ho in 1994 and Jamie Ricker and Jenn Gross in 1997.
Davis is one of five players in school history to record a hat trick, having done so last year against William & Mary. She topped the six points she had in that match with the seven points she had against VMI. Davis shares the CAA weekly award with Salma Tarik of Hofstra, who had three goals against a pair of Big Ten opponents.
Mason will return to action on Wednesday when the women's soccer team plays at UMBC at 4 p.m.
