Men's Soccer Announces 2010 Schedule

Freeman Named to the Preseason All-CAA Team

RICHMOND, Va. - George Mason senior forward Victor Freeman was named to the Preseason All-CAA Men's Soccer Team on Tuesday afternoon. The team was selected by a vote of the conference's 12 head men's soccer coaches.

Freeman, a transfer from Louisburg College, was a First-Team VaSID All-State and Second-Team All-CAA selection last season. The Bowie, Md. native led the Patriots in goals (7), game-winning goals (3), assists (4) and points (18) during his junior season.

James Madison senior forward/midfielder CJ Sapong was chosen as the conference's preseason Player of the Year. Joining Sapong in the midfield on the Preseason All-CAA Men's Soccer Team were William and Mary senior Nat Baako, UNC Wilmington sophomore Etienne Boulanger, Towson senior Marco Mangione and UNCW senior Daniel Roberts. Voted to the preseason All-CAA team at forward were Northeastern sophomore Don Anding, Freeman and Towson junior Liam Maloney.

Chosen to the preseason all-conference squad on defense were Northeastern senior Santiago Bedoya, Towson senior Scott Horta, Northeastern senior Matt Sanford and UNC Wilmington senior Indy Smith. UNCW senior Brock Duckworth is the goalkeeper on the preseason all-conference team.

George Mason begins its 2010 men's soccer season on Wednesday, Sept. 1 against George Washington at the D.C. College Cup in Washington, D.C.
