FAIRFAX, Va. - England National Schoolboy team striker, Taylor Morgan, has been added to the George Mason men's soccer team with three seasons of eligibility remaining. Morgan, a 6-foot-4-inch goal scorer, hails from Southampton, England and has one year of college experience.

Morgan played for Central Connecticut State University this past fall. At CCSU, Morgan led the team in goals scored and was named the ECAC Offensive Player of the Week the same week George Mason alum Sean Kelley was named ECAC Defensive Player of the Week.

"We are pleased to welcome Taylor to the George Mason soccer family. This fall we will have the deepest pool of talented and proven forwards since I've been here, which is very exciting," said head coach Greg Andrulis. "Competition up top for playing time will be fierce and competitive. Taylor has good pace and skill for a target player of his size. He has a history of scoring important goals on the international stage which will help him transition to our program. Taylor knows that he has to work incredibly hard to reach his potential and we are excited to continue to manage his career as a student-athlete."

Taylor played for the English Schools Football Association U-19 International squad as a 17- and 18-year-old. One of three strikers on the squad selected from more than 300 players, Taylor scored the winning goal in front of a crowd of over 20,000 at Wembley Stadium against Scotland in May 2008. On the 2008 English School Boys' team, Taylor was a teammate of current Manchester United center back Chris Smalling.

Taylor has been selected to represent England in games against Spain, France, Ireland and Jamaica.

This summer Taylor spent time with the IMG PDL Soccer Academy, where he was second on the team in total points scored. Taylor played under Coach Tom Durkin and with current George Mason sophomore and 2009 George Mason Freshman of the Year Chase Miller.
