George Mason rising senior Omolyn Davis has spent the summer playing in the United Soccer Leagues W-League and she has had a fabulous few months culminating with her being named to the 2010 All-League Team. Davis, who was named All-CAA and NSCAA All-Region in 2009 when she helped Mason to the nation's top turnaround in wins, was one of two members of the Washington Freedom Futures to be chosen.
Davis, who has played in all 12 games while helping Washington to a 10-1-1 record, is tied for sixth in the league with 17 points and sixth with seven goals. She is also tied for 16th with three assists. There are 29 teams that make up the United Soccer Leagues.
The George Mason women's soccer season begins on Aug. 21 when the Patriots host George Washington at 6 p.m. in an exhibition game. The men's team will play Georgetown following the conclusion of the women's game. The regular season will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 25 at Howard at 7 p.m. The first regular-season home game is Sunday, Aug. 29 at 3 p.m. vs. Navy.
In 2009, Davis scored a team-high 10 goals while tying for the team-high with eight assists. Her 28 points, 61 shots and 29 shots on goal led the team and she was fifth with 1,382 minutes played. She finished the season with two game-winning goals.
