BALLYMENA, Northern Ireland - Conor Shanosky, who will join the George Mason University men's soccer team for his freshman season in the fall, started at midfield for the U.S. U-20 Men's National Team in its 1-0 victory over China in the Milk Cup on Monday. One of the most popular youth national trips, the Milk Cup is a prestigious tournament that is being played in Northern Ireland this year.

The team participated in the opening ceremonies in Belfast before its game against China on July 26. In its opening match, the U.S. took a 1-0 lead against China on a goal by Omar Salgado in the 18th minute and made it stand for the victory.

The U.S. will play Denmark on Wednesday, July 28 at 3 p.m. ET with a chance to advance to the championship match of the tournament's Elite division. Denmark also won its opening match at the Milk Cup, defeating Japan by a final score of 4-1.
