Men's Soccer Has High Hopes for a Return to Postseason Play in 2010

Men's Soccer to Play Georgetown in Exhibition Match for Charity

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The George Mason men's soccer team will play an exhibition match for charity against the Georgetown Hoyas on Friday, April 9 at 7 p.m. at Harbin Field in Washington, D.C. Admission to the match is free but donations for HIV and AIDS awareness will be taken throughout the game for Grassroot Soccer.

Both teams and coaching staffs will wear red shoelaces to support the cause and mission of Grassroot Soccer. Both programs will also be raising money for the organization.

Grassroot Soccer was founded in 2002 by a group of former professional soccer players. The organization uses the sport of soccer to raise money and awareness for the prevention of HIV and AIDS. More information about Grassroot Soccer can be found on the web at http://www.grassrootsoccer.org.

After the charity match, George Mason will host Mount St. Mary's the following day at 3 p.m. Saturday's match will be played at the Patriots' practice field located adjacent to George Mason Stadium.
