George Mason junior guard Cam Long was named National Association of Basketball Coaches First Team All-District 10 this week becoming the eighth Mason player during head coach Jim Larranaga's 13 years with the Patriots to be named All-District. In being chosen to the first team, he's the first player to receive that honor since Jai Lewis in 2001 and the second since George Evans in 2001.

Long, who was named second-team All-CAA two weeks ago, led Mason in scoring, assists and steals and became the first player in school history to lead Mason in those categories in back-to-back seasons. He averaged 12.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.3 steals and started 31 games this year.

Long is the 13th player in school history to be named All-District and those players have combined for 19 different All-District selections. Kenny Sanders was twice named first-team All-District (1988, 1989) while Robert Dykes (1991), Nate Langley (1997) and Jason Miskiri (1999) were all selected as well. George Evans is Mason's only three-time first-team All-District selection (1999, 2000, 2001). Sanders (1987) and Dykes (1990) also received second-team All-District selections as did David Skaff (1981), Carlos Yates (1984, 1985), Rob Rose (1986), Curtis McCants (1996), Mark Davis (2004) and Will Thomas (2007).

Long will have a chance next year to become just the third Mason player to be named first-team All-District more than once.
