George Mason senior Hannah Sklar had a standout career at Mason both on the field and in the classroom. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America has chosen to honor her by naming her honorable mention Academic All-Region for the East Region.
Sklar started every contest in her four-year career, finishing with 77 consecutive starts. That is the third-longest streak in school history. This past season, she was part of a defense that allowed the second-fewest goals in a single-season in school history and she tallied to assists on the season. She finished her career with a 3.67 grade-point average. She is one of seven CAA players to earn an Academic All-Region honor.
Sklar is the first Mason played since Sarah Coughlin in 2004 to earn a national academic honor. That year, Coughlin was third-team Academic All-American.
