SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - George Mason finished in fourth place at the Volleyball Hall of Fame Morgan Classic Tournament after taking a 3-1 loss at the hands of host Springfield College on Saturday evening at Blake Arena in Springfield, Mass. Set scores were 21-30, 30-25, 26-30 and 29-31.

The Pride improved their record to 9-6 on the season, while the Patriots dropped to 4-8 overall. The two schools played for the third time in the last seven days, with the Pride taking two of the matches. Mason defeated Springfield College 3-2 on Thursday.

As a team, Springfield College hit .354, while the Patriots hit .257. Each team recorded 14.5 team blocks in the match.

Freshman Michael Kvidahl came off the bench to lead George Mason with 20 kills in just three sets. Senior Luke Maloney added 13 kills, while Joe Norton was the only other Patriot with double figure kills with 11. Sophomore Shaun Sibley posted a team-best seven blocks, while Norton and Lance Rogers each recorded six stuffs.

AJ Nally pounded out a match-high 21 kills at a .486 clip to go along with 11 digs and three blocks. Alistair Matthews notched 14 kills and 10 digs for a double-double.

UC Santa Barbara captured the tournament title with a 3-0 sweep of Ohio State. Following the conclusion of the tournament, Sibley was the lone Patriot named to the All-Tournament Team.

George Mason returns home on Friday, March 5 to face Rutgers-Newark at the RAC. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
