The George Mason women's basketball team continues its road swing spanning four states and two blizzards as the Patriots face UNC Wilmington on Thursday evening. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. at Trask Coliseum.

UNC Wilmington will host the Patriots in a battle between the 11th and 12th place teams in the current CAA standings, as the Seahawks sport a 2-9 record in conference play and 7-15 overall. This is the first meeting this season between the two teams, as UNCW will travel to Fairfax on Feb. 25. UNCW is led by double-figure scoring averages from Brittany Blackwell (13.4 ppg) and Greta Luksyte (10.2 ppg).

Last time they met, Mason went to the JMU Convocation Center on Mar. 12 last year trying to become the first 12-seed to earn a first-round victory in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship, and the Patriots nearly upset fifth-seeded UNC Wilmington before a late charge allowed the Seahawks to hold off Mason, 56-47. Mason saw two players reach double figures in scoring, led by 11 points from sophomore Brittany Poindexter. Three Seahawk players hit double-digits, led by Brittany Blackwell's 19 points. Blackwell completed a double-double with 14 rebounds.

Mason leads the all-time series against the Seahawks but is looking to reverse its recent fortunes against UNCW. The Patriots have fallen in the last 10 meetings with UNCW, with the last Mason victory coming on Jan. 20, 2005, a 59-53 win at Trask Coliseum.
