WASHINGTON, D.C. -George Washington used a 23-12 run over the final 7:53 of play and went 7-for-8 at the charity stripe to seal a 67-58 comeback win over George Mason Sunday afternoon in the Charles E. Smith Center. Brittany Poindexter scored a season-high 22 points, but GW shot 64 percent in the second half to remain undefeated at home.

Two Patriots (2-5) reached double figures led by Poindexter with 22. Amber Easter followed with 11 as three Colonials (4-3) put together double-digit performances. Tiana Myers led the GW offense with 18 points, followed by Danni Jackson with 16 and Kye Allums with 10.

Mason won the edge on glass, 33-26, led by Poindexter and Easter each with six boards. Ivy Abiona paced the Colonials also with six rebounds.

Shooting 86 percent from the floor, GW opened the second half with a 14-5 run to cut the score to two points, 35-33, at the first media timeout, 14:28. The Colonials tied the score and took the lead, 44-43, on a pair of free throws and three-pointer from Allums at 8:39. Easter handed the lead back to Mason draining a trey less than twenty seconds later. But an Abiona trip to the charity stripe sparked a 13-1 Colonials run as GW took a comfortable lead at 57-47 with 3:29 to play. The last nine GW points came at the charity stripe as the Colonials sealed the comeback win.

The first half was a different tale as George Washington opened the contest with a trio of three-pointers to take a 9-4 lead before Mason came alive. The Patriots used a 14-0 run over 7:13 of action to break away with a 19-9 lead at the 7:38 mark. Danni Jackson broke the Patriot run with a jumper as the Colonials scored for the first time in eight minutes. Mason closed the half on a 4-0 run with a pair of free throws from Taleia Moton to carry a 13-point lead, 30-17, into halftime.

Poindexter led the Patriots offensively in the opening stanza draining 13 points to go along with four rebounds and one steal. Mason led on the glass 22-11 paced by Evelyn Lewis with five boards. Lewis also added one block and one assist. Easter pulled down three of Mason's eight offensive boards, which the Patriots converted for nine second chance points. GW struggled on the offensive boards, securing only three, and converting none.

George Mason shot 39 percent from the floor to gain the double-digit lead at the break, while holding GW to 27 percent field goal efficiency. The Colonials were led in scoring by Tara Booker with six points.
