Sean Cote, a freshman men's soccer player and Omolyn Davis, a redshirt senior women's soccer player put together excellent starts to the 2010 season, with strong performances and CAA weekly honors. They each picked up another honor when they were named George Mason Male and Female Athletes of the Month for September. Competitions in late August were included in the award.

Cote, a native of Plano, Texas, played in six of Mason's seven matches in August and September with five starts. He put together a 3-1-1 record with a pair of shutouts and was named CAA Rookie of the Week after the Patriots won the D.C. College Cup. Cote played 470 minutes in net with 28 saves and four goals allowed. He put together an .875 save percentage and he posted a 0.77 goals-against average. On the season, Cote is 5-3-1 with three shutouts in eight starts.

Davis, who was named to the Hermann Award Watch List prior to the season, got off to a terrific start. In the season's first 10 matches, she scored seven goals with seven assists to lead the CAA in goals per game, assists per game and points per game. In just her second year on the team, she is top 15 all-time in school history in goals, assists and points. Mason was 6-3-1 through September with a 2-0 mark in CAA action.
