MIDLOTHIAN, V.A.--The George Mason men's golf team got off to a solid start in the Richmond Intercollegiate yesterday at the par-72, 7,127-yard Independence Golf Club. The Patriots stand in sixth place after posting a two-round team total of 591.
Joe Buttgereit (74-71) leads the Patriots with a two-round total of 145, tied for 18th place.
Nick Austin (66-71) of the host school, the University of Richmond has the overall individual lead at seven-under-par with a two-round total of 137. Richmond leads the team standings as well with an overall score of 562. The Patriots will wrap up the tournament with an 18-hole round today.
