Had a season low round of 74 on two different occasions ... Fall 2009: Played in 3 of the 5 tournaments during the fall... Had a low round of 74 during the first half of the season... Finished tied for 34th at the ODU-Seascape Collegiate Invite... 2008-09: Scoring average of 80.1... Started in 8 tournaments over the year... Shot a career low round of 73 at the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate... Finished tied for 26th at the Patriot Intercollegiate for a career best... 2007-08: 77.20 Fall '07 scoring average... Walked on the team this season... Started the final two tournaments of the fall season... low team score in the ODU Seascape Invitational shooting his career low 72 in the final round...78.6 Spring 2008 scoring average...Started the first two tournamnets of the spring...76 was his lowest score of the spring... "Silas has the potential to be a full time starter in the very near future. Each round he played was better than the last (82,79,78,75,72) which is a great confidence builder going into the spring season. He is willing to make the small changes in his game in order to be better and I feel with more tournament experience, Silas will hold on to his starting position for a very long time."(Coach King)... Prep: Lettered in golf four years at MacArthur High School in Oklahoma and Osbourn Park... Received letters in baseball and basketball... Earned All Conference honors three straight years, including All-Region as a junior... Was named MVP both his junior and senior seasons for the Yellow Jackets.Personal: Parents are Pam and Terry Vansky... Two siblings Harry (15) and Maddy (13)...Father played baseball and basketball for Ohio State-Lima... Enjoys going to the movies, basketball, computers and drawing... Major is Electrical Engineering.
