George Mason rising junior guard Cam Long had a phenomenal sophomore season, leading the Patriots in scoring and assists. He was named third-team All-CAA and he will enter 2009-2010 as one of the conference's most exciting, talented and feared players. Next week, Long will have a chance to impart some of his knowledge to some of the nation's top high school point guards while also learning from his peers and one of the world's best players as he will serve as a counselor at Chris Paul's CP3 Elite Guard Camp in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The CP3 Elite Guard Camp is an invitation-only camp for the top high school and collegiate point guards from North Carolina and across the country. It's an opportunity for some of the rising stars in the game of basketball to learn on the court from one of the best players in the world.

"I am really excited to be invited into such a great camp," Long said. "It gives me the opportunity to learn more and also be able to show what I am capable of doing already. I am going to go into this camp real focused and confident and hopefully I can return to George Mason and share what I learned with my teammates to help us be a more successful team."

"Cam Long had a real good sophomore year," said Mason head coach Jim Larranaga. "His progress on the court continues to impress me. He has dedicated himself to become the best player possible this summer. Working the Chris Paul Elite camp will enhance his knowledge and skill and prepare him for a great junior year. He is our leader. We want him to expand his role and leadership skills."

Last year's 17 college counselors included Stephen Curry of Davidson, Tyrese Rice of Boston College, Austin Freeman of Georgetown, Jeff Allen of Virginia Tech, Devan Downey of South Carolina and Greivis Vasquez of Maryland. The camp will take place from August 14-16.
