The Colonial Athletic Association has released a tentative men's basketball schedule for the 2009-2010 season. Game dates are subject to change and the conference expects at least a dozen of its midweek contests will be moved from Wednesday to either Tuesday or Thursday. Game dates will not become definite until the middle of October.

According to the tentative schedule, Mason is set to open conference play on Saturday, Dec. 5 at UNC Wilmington. The Patriots will open their home schedule on Saturday, January 2 when Mason hosts Old Dominion. Two days later, Hofstra will visit the Patriot Center for a Monday game. Mason will play other Saturday home games against UNC Wilmington on Jan. 9, James Madison on Jan. 30 and Northeastern on Feb. 27. Other midweek home games are against Georgia State on Jan. 13, Delaware on Jan. 27, VCU on Feb. 10 and William & Mary on Feb. 16.

The Patriots will play on the road in January at Northeastern, James Madison, Hofstra and Towson while February road games have the Patriots visiting Georgia State, Drexel, Old Dominion and Delaware.

Mason released its non-conference schedule two months ago. The season will open on Friday, Nov. 13 at home against Liberty. Other home games include Dartmouth, Dayton, Creighton, VMI and a BracketBuster opponent to be determined in February. The Patriots will play road games at George Washington, Tulane and Radford and neutral-site tournament games in Puerto Rico against a field that includes Villanova (Mason's first-round opponent), Kansas State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Mississippi, Boston University and Dayton.
