The Colonial Athletic Association will recognize its ninth class of basketball legends at the CAA Men's Tournament in Richmond, Va. this weekend. George Mason standout from the early 1980s Ric Wilson will represent the Patriots as this year's legend. The 6' 3" guard was a member of four winning-record squads of the 1980's.

The 1986 graduate of George Mason had a career full of firsts. In his sophomore season, the Patriots earned Mason's first 20-win season and the second during his senior season. In his final year with Mason, he was a part of the team that garnered their first post season birth and victory, defeating Lamar in the NIT.

Wilson ranks in the top 11 in six statistical categories at Mason. He is the 11th-leading points scorer of all-time with 1,505, 10th in steals all-time with 127, 10th in field goals made with 586, eighth in games played with 116, fourth all-time in games started with 104, and third in assists with 405. He is a three-time all-conference member. In 1984 Wilson was a member of the ECAC South all-conference first team and second team in 1985. As a senior Wilson earned All-CAA conference honors making the second team.

The Portsmouth, Va, native is in his third season as the color commentator for Patriots radio. Along with being the color commentary for Mason basketball, Wilson is the Vice President of Sports Marketing at Converse Inc. He currently lives in Bowie, Md. with his wife Carmen and their two children, Kai (8) and Nya (6).
