FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason Athletics has announced the first-team; second-team; and third-team Patriot Platoon winners for the 2011-12 basketball season.  The nearly 500 members of the Patriot Platoon attended games all season long in the Patriot Center, providing a raucous atmosphere and home court advantage for the Patriots who completed a perfect 9-0 home record in CAA play for the second consecutive season.

The 2011-12 grand prize winner, DJ Dumas, receives a VIP package to see the Potomac Nationals on Opening Night at Pfitzner Stadium in Woodbridge courtesy of Farm Bureau Insurance.  Dumas will receive 6 tickets to the P-Nats opener, as well as free parking and food vouchers to enjoy at the April 13 opener.

Additionally, these 86 Platoon members led the way all year attending the most games and helping provide the most spirit for the Patriots all season long.  This year the Patriot Platoon and its year-long attendance competition were sponsored by ROCS Staffing. 

First-team Patriot Platoon winners will receive a unique folding chair that comes with its own beverage cooler attached, and will be adorned with the Mason Patriots logo along with a Mason branded Turvis Tumbler.  Second-team winners will take home the Turvis Tumbler, while third place winners will receive a Mason branded golf umbrella with wind vents.

Congratulations to all the 2011-12 Patriot Platoon winners.  Winners will be invited to a VIP dinner experience with Head Coach Paul Hewitt later in the spring where they can claim their prizes.  More information will be available in the coming weeks.
