Dec. 2, 2009
George Mason midfielder Omolyn Davis led the Patriots with 10 goals, eight assists and 28 points in 2009 and on Wednesday, she was named an ECAC Second-Team All-Star after her inaugural campaign. The redshirt junior played in all but one match for Mason as the Patriots went 14-4-2 on the year. Mason led the nation in win improvement from 2008 to 2009 as Mason picked up nine more wins in 2009 than the previous season.
Davis helped Mason to its ninth 50-goal season as the Patriots put 51 goals in net while allowing just 14. The 14 goals allowed were the second-fewest in school history. Davis was one of four CAA players named to the All-Star teams. Devin Petta of Northeastern was the Rookie of the Year and she was named to the first team along with Jess Crankshaw of Hofstra. Corky Julien of James Madison joined Davis on the second team.
