2009 NCAA Division I Southeast Regional Cross Country Championships
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - George Mason travels to Louisville, Ky. for the 2009 NCAA Division I Southeast Regional Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning. The men's 10,000-meter race is scheduled for 10 a.m. at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park and will be followed by the women's 6,000-meter race at 11:15 a.m.
The top-two teams in the standings at the end of the meet will automatically qualify for the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships, scheduled for Monday, Nov. 23 at LaVern Gibson Championship Course in Terre Haute, Ind. The remaining 13 teams will be selected at-large by the NCAA Division I track and field subcommittee.
Thirty-six individuals automatically qualify for the championship races by being one
of the top four regional finishers not on an advancing team. Two additional individuals
will be selected at-large by the committee.
At last year's NCAA Southeast Regional meet, the Patriot men ran to a 16th-place finish. Two members of the women's team - Karlyn Lockie and Samantha Fickel - ran at last year's regional meet.
