Box Score

Atlanta, Ga. - The George Mason women's soccer team battled Georgia State for 110 minutes on Friday night and the nearly two hours still wasn't enough to determine a winner as the Patriots and Panthers tied at 0-0. The contest featured 20 shots by Mason with eight on goal while the Panthers were held to just eight shots and only two of those were on goal.

In the opening minutes, it looked as if Georgia State (6-4-3, 0-3-2) would be the aggressor as Sarah Bennett put a shot on goal in the fourth minute. It was more than 45 minutes until the Panthers would manage another. In the first half, four different Mason players put shots on goal as Omolyn Davis, Kelly Keelan, Kelly Thomas and Annie Lebherz all forced Heidi Blankenship to make a stop and each time she was up to the challenge.

In the second half, Mason (9-4-1, 1-3-1) was held to just two shots on goal as Davis had a header stopped in the 58th minute while Keelan had a stop stymied in the 88th minute. Georgia State's only other shot on goal came in the 50th minute from Bri Cagle. In the 93rd minute, Theresa DeLucca had a chance to win the game and Davis had a shot at a golden goal in the 104th minute, but Blankenship came away with saves both times.

The Patriots will return to action on Sunday when they play at UNC Wilmington (8-5-0, 4-1-0) at 2 p.m. Mason will return home to host Drexel on Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.
