The George Mason women's soccer team scored four second-half goals and the Patriots picked up their first Colonial Athletic Association win after three straight one-goal losses as the Patriots beat Northeastern, 4-1 on Sunday afternoon.

The Huskies got on the board first taking a lead in the 21st minute. Veronica Napoili crossed the ball from the right side to Liza Rebello who headed the ball into the bottom right corner of the net. The Patriots wasted no time in the second half first tying the match then taking the lead. In the 48th minute, Mary Kate Lowry and Sasha Vido played touch passes to Kelly Keelan who blasted the ball from 18 yards out going high right for the 1-1 equalizer. In the 49th minute, Mason took the lead, this time as Omolyn Davis played the ball from the right to Theresa DeLucca in the box who played the ball easily into the goal for a 2-1 lead.

Mason added some insurance in the 58th minute when Patti Benner served the ball from near the right corner to in front of the net where Tiana Kallenberger headed the ball low to the left post. The lead grew to 4-1 in the 71st minute when Davis played the ball from center to the right wing where Annie Lebherz played the ball to the left post for a three-goal lead.

Katie Frey made four saves for the win. Stephanie Gordon made three saves in the first half before suffering an injury and giving way to Michelle Sopko. The redshirt freshman made three saves as well but allowed four goals.

"It was a great team effort with fantastic finishing and composure in the second half," said Mason head coach Diane Drake. "To beat last year's CAA championship team and second-round NCAA team is what we need moving into the most important away weekend of the year."

The Patriots will return to action on Friday when they play at Georgia State at 7 p.m.
