RICHMOND, Va. - Junior middle blocker/opposite hitter Holly Goode continued her scorching offensive production through two straight-set victories this past weekend and was recognized for her efforts Monday by the Colonial Athletic Association as its Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
It is the first weekly award for the Virginia Beach, Va., native and the third of the season for the Patriots.
Goode averaged a league-best 4.82 kills per set and hit at a .397 clip in the six sets. She led all players in kills during both matches, including scoring a career-high 19 kills against Hofstra, and also added 11 digs and three blocks on the week.
She currently leads the team and ranks fifth in the conference with a 3.14 kills-per-set average and is sixth in hitting percentage, swinging .300 during the season. Her 3.61 points-per-set average places her fourth overall in the CAA. Goode shared Monday's honor with Jess Chason of Delaware.
Goode and the Patriots, winners of five of their last six matches, return home on Friday and Saturday for matches against Towson and Delaware, respectively.
