Wilmington, N.C. - The George Mason women's soccer team went to overtime for the second straight game and once again the Patriots came away from a road contest with a tie as Mason (9-4-2, 1-3-2) and UNC Wilmington (8-5-1, 4-1-1 ) played 110 minutes and finished the game tied at 1-1.

Both goals came in a span of less than 30 seconds in the first half.. In the 36th minute, Omolyn Davis stole the ball from a UNCW defender, shot the ball from the left side high into the right corner of the net. Just 25 seconds later, the Seahawks got the equalizer as Kelly Dodd found Amanda Holmes and she knocked home the loose ball inside the box.

The Patriots were outshot in the contest, 21-17 with UNC Wilmington putting 12 shots on goal while Mason put nine shots on goal. The Patriots did have a 6-4 edge in corner kicks. Each team was whistled for offsides once in the contest. Katie Frey finished with nine saves for Mason while Caitlin Hunter stopped eight shots for the Seahawks.

"We competed from the first whistle to the last whistle against a very dangerous UNCW team," said Mason head coach Diane Drake. "We are playing good soccer right now and the results will come. This is an incredibly difficult trip with more than 24 hours of traveling by bus. I am so proud of the professionalism and attitude of the girls. We're definitely ready to play at home."

The Patriots will return to action on Friday when they host Drexel at 7 p.m.
