Women's Basketball Faces Northeastern on Sunday at Home

The George Mason women's basketball team hosts Northeastern on Princess Day at Patriot Center on Sunday at 2 p.m. The first 500 youth girls will receive a free green tiara.

Northeastern comes to Fairfax with a 5-10 record and has won two of its four CAA games this season, including a 54-50 win over UNC Wilmington on Thursday night. The Huskies are led on offense by Jasmine Crew, who is averaging 13.2 points per game.

Last time they met, The 11th-seeded George Mason women's basketball team fell to No. 6 Northeastern, 78-46, in the opening round of the 2008 Colonial Athletic Association Championship, held Friday, Mar. 13,2008 at the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark, Del. The Patriots were led by freshman Eugenia Broadus, who matched a season-high with 12 points on 6-for-7 field goal shooting. Meanwhile, three Huskies reached double figures, paced by a 21-point day from Lucia Pablos.

Mason leads the all-time series by a 4-3 margin, but the Huskies have taken all three of their victories in the two teams' matchups last season.
