Sept. 26, 2008

After spending the last two weekends away from Fairfax, the George Mason women's volleyball team returns home on Saturday evening when the Patriots play host to James Madison in both teams' Colonial Athletic Association opener. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Field House.

Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for youth and senior citizens. Mason students can receive free admission by presenting their Mason student ID cards.

Mason currently holds a 4-9 record on the season after completing its non-conference schedule. Most recently, the Patriots were dealt three losses at the Indiana Invitational last weekend in Bloomington, falling to the host Hoosiers, Cincinnati and Ball State.

The Patriot offense is powered by junior Rebecca Walter, who is averaging 3.28 kills per set (131 total). Mason's front-line attack, which currently ranks second in the conference in blocking, is anchored by senior Jourdan Dozier, whose 45 total blocks are second-most in the CAA as well.

JMU holds a similar season mark to the Patriots, as the Dukes enter Saturday's match with a 5-10 record. In their most recent action, the Dukes were swept by host USF at the Best Western Invitational in Tampa. They are led by Lindsay Callahan, who has 178 kills (3.12 k/s) on the year.

Following Saturday's match, the Patriots will be back in action at the Field House to continue their homestand against Hofstra and Northeastern next weekend.
