George Mason Teams with D.C. United to Offer Soccer Flex Plan Package

FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason University and D.C. United of Major League Soccer have teamed up for the 2008 season to create a flex ticketing plan that allows fans to see two great matches for the price of one.

Flex plan tickets are $24 and fans can choose one D.C. United match and one George Mason match to attend. D.C. United offers a choice of five remaining home matches at RFK Stadium, while Mason offers a choice of five home matches at George Mason Stadium.

Among the available matches for D.C. United are Aug. 23 against the Colorado Rapids, Aug. 30 against the New York Red Bulls, Sept. 13 against FC Dallas, Oct. 4 against Chivas USA and Oct. 16 against the New England Revolution. Each of the matches is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

The available Mason contests include men's matches against the University of Virginia on Sept. 5, the University of Richmond on Sept. 20, VCU on Sept. 27 and JMU on Oct. 11. Fans can also choose to attend a women's match against Indiana on Sept. 12. Each of the matches is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start with the exception of the Sept. 5 matchup against Virginia, which is slated for an 8 p.m. start.

The George Mason men's soccer team opens its 2008 season on Aug. 29 at the D.C. College Cup with a 2 p.m. contest against George Washington. The women's team begins its season on Aug. 23 with a 7 p.m. match against Maryland in College Park, Md. D.C. United, with a 7-8-1 record on the season, is currently tied for fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings with 22 points.
