Men's Basketball 2007-08 Highlights:

• Fifth NCAA tournament appearance

• CAA Champions (Fifth time in school history, first since 2001)

• Only school to have two players in the top seven of the scoring in the CAA, Thomas (4th) and Campbell (7th)

• Tied for second-most wins in school history

• Set school record for total attendance with 90,920 fans

• Finished 3rd in the CAA in points per game, 69.3

• Finished 2nd in the CAA in scoring defense, only allowing 62.5 per game

• Mason had second largest scoring margin in the CAA, +7.6

• Finished 2nd in field-goal percentage, making 46.9 percent of their shots

• Mason led the CAA in rebounding margin, +4.1

• Mason ended the season 13th in the collegeinsider.com mid-major poll

• Mason went 13-1 at home this season

• Mason games were aired on television a record 31 times, including four postseason games.

Coach Larranaga

• Earned his 400th career victory on February 20th beating Delaware and ended the season with 404 wins

• Earned his 200th Mason victory and ended the season with 207 wins at Mason

• Extended his own record for most conference wins in the CAA with 139

Folarin Campbell

• Named CAA Tournament MVP

• Selected as CAA Player of the Week on 2/11

• Selected Second-Team All-CAA

• Only player in school history to reach 1,500 points, 400 rebounds, 300 assists, 150 3-pointers, 100 steals, and 50 blocks

• Finished career 8th all-time in scoring with 1,543 points

• Finished career 4th all-time in assists with 392

• Finished career 5th all-time in 3-pointers

• Finished career 11th all-time in steals

Jordan Carter

• Finished his career 4th all-time on the 3-point field-goal percentage list connecting on 39.8 percent of his 3-pointers.

• Finished his career 3rd all-time at Mason in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.66:1).

Dre Smith

• Set an NCAA record for 3-pointers in a game without a miss, going 10 of 10 from beyond the arc on January 19th at James Madison

• Tied for ninth all-time in career 3-pointers with 118

• Selected as CAA Co-Player of the Week (1/21)

Will Thomas

• Selected First-Team All-CAA

• Runner-up for CAA Player of the Year

• Became 7th player in school history to average a double-double for a season, 16.1 ppg and 10.4 rpg

• Selected to CAA All-Defensive Team for third time and was Runner-up for CAA Defensive Player of the Year

• One of just five players in CAA history to be named to the All-Defensive Team three times

• Finished career 1st all-time at Mason in games played (131), games started (118) and minutes played (4,144).

• Finished career 1st all-time at Mason in field-goal percentage (.616) and 3rd all-time in the CAA

• Finished career 3rd all-time in rebounding (993) and 6th all-time in the CAA

• Led CAA in rebounding with 10.4 per game.

• Had the best season in school history in terms of field-goal percentage with a .642 mark

• Had the best season in school history in terms of total rebounds with 353.

• Finished career 7th all-time at Mason in scoring with 1,564 points

• Selected CAA player of the week twice, 11/19 and 11/26

• Selected to CAA All-Tournament Team

John Vaughan

• Finished the season 34th all-time at Mason in points with 901.

• Finished season 8th all-time at Mason in 3-pointers with 120.

• Cam Long was selected CAA Rookie of the Week, 1/14
