No. 11 George Mason (10-6, 3-3 EIVA Tait) swept East Stroudsburg (1-11, 0-8 EIVA Tait) by a final score of 3-0 in Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Tait Division men's volleyball action on Sunday afternoon in Buchanan Gym at Hempfield High School in Lancaster, Pa. Junior Hudson Bates led the Patriots attack with a match-high 13 kills.
Mason's offense set the tone early, getting off to a blistering start, hitting .647 in a 30-13 first game win. Overall, the Patriots hit .392 as a team, while holding the Warriors to a paltry .186 mark, including -.167 in the opening game.
Sophomore opposite hitter Colton Naill totaled nine kills on 14 swings, while senior outside hitter Mark Burik tallied eight kills and four aces. Sophomore setter Ryan Kwiatkowski posted a match-high 36 assists.
Sophomore Chris Holden and junior Jesse Landis both finished with nine kills for East Stroudsburg. Junior R.J. Roth recorded a match-high eight digs.
The Patriots return home to face the top-ranked team in the nation, the Penn State Nittany Lions, on Friday, March 7 at 7 p.m.
