Box Score

FAIRFAX, Va. - Junior midfielder Price Thomas's goal 29 seconds into the first overtime period lifted the William and Mary Tribe (5-2-2, 1-2-0 CAA) past the George Mason Patriots (5-3-1, 1-1-0 CAA) on Saturday evening at George Mason Stadium. The loss snapped the Patriots four-match winning streak.

After 90 minutes of scoreless play, the teams took the field for the first overtime. Twenty nine seconds into the period, junior forward Andrew Hoxie found Thomas streaking down the right side of the field towards the box. Thomas took Hoxie's pass in stride and angled his shot towards the left side of the goal past a diving Sean Kelley for the lone score of the match.

Both defenses excelled throughout the match and were bolstered by excellent play in goal. The Tribe's Andrew McAdams registered six saves in the match, while Kelley finished with five for the Patriots.

The statistics were nearly even for both sides. Both teams finished with four corner kicks, while George Mason took 17 shots to William and Mary's 13. The Patriots committed 14 fouls to the Tribe's nine.

After four consecutive home matches, George Mason hits the road for its next contest, traveling to Towson, Md. to take on the Towson Tigers in a 3 p.m. match on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
