George Mason's men's basketball game, slated for February 16 against UNC Wilmington, has been scheduled for a 6 p.m. tip and will air on ESPNU. The game, which is part of Homecoming Weekend, will pit the Patriots looking for revenge against the Seahawks, who took a 61-58 win last week in Wilmington. The game time had not been set prior to today.
The scheduling of the game on ESPNU brings the total of televised games this year to 25. That breaks the previous record of 24 games set last season. The Patriots could find themselves on television a couple more times, either via the ESPN BracketBuster (with pairings and networks announced within the next week) or if Mason should advance to the CAA Championship Game.
Of the 25 televised games, seven have been on the ESPN family of networks. Four games have been telecast on ESPN2 and one on ESPNU with two more on ESPNU in the coming weeks. The Feb. 7 game at Drexel will be on ESPNU along with the Feb. 16 contest.
This season, Mason has a 14-4 mark in televised games.
