Salichs, Wiggins Named NSCAA/adidas East Region Academic All-Americans

The 2007 George Mason women's soccer team has seven student-athletes who have been named to the Dean's List during their career and a pair of those were honored as they were selected honorable mention to the 2007 NSCAA/adidas College Women Scholar All-America East Region.

Laura Salichs, a senior majoring in tourism and event management and Rachel Wiggins, a graduate student who received her degree in social work were named to the team, the first-such honor in their careers. They are Mason's first adidas Academic All-Americans since Sarah Coughlin was named third-team in 2004.

Rachel Wiggins was named an East Region Academic All-American.


Salichs, who defender came to Mason from Alpharetta, Ga., had a 3.52 grade-point average through her first three years at Mason. She was first-team All-CAA and first-team All-Virginia as a junior and she finished her career tied for 15th on the school's career games played list.

Wiggins, a forward who hails from Acworth, Ga., graduated from Mason with a 3.5 grade-point average. She finished her career tied for eight on the school's career goals list, ninth on the career points list and 10th on the games played list. As a junior, she was second-team All-CAA and All-Virginia.
