FAIRFAX, Va. - The thirteenth-ranked George Mason men's volleyball team will attempt to extend its winning streak to three consecutive matches to open the season when it hosts Springfield College on Monday at 7 p.m. at the Fieldhouse.

The Patriots have faced only one opponent so far this season, playing the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez on consecutive nights last week at the Fieldhouse. The Tarzanes were unable to give Mason a serious test, as the Patriots dropped only one game in those two matches. In the season-opening win on Tuesday, senior R.J. Goubeaux set a career-high with 11 total blocks as the team registered 20 in the match. On Wednesday, Mason's balanced offensive attack, featuring four players with double-digit kills, carried the team to victory.

Meanwhile, Springfield College has played only one match this season, opening up the year with a 3-1 win against MIT on Saturday. The Pride downed the Engineers by final scores of 30-27, 27-30, 30-26 and 30-25 to start the season on a winning note.

Tickets to the match will cost $5 for adults and $2 for youth and senior citizens. All full-time enrolled students at George Mason University will be admitted free with a valid Mason student ID.
