Final Stats

College Park, Md. - The George Mason women's soccer team brought their four-game winning streak to Maryland, but after a hard fought battle, the Terrapins broke that on Sunday night as the Patriots suffered a 1-0 loss. It was the first time since Sept. 2 that the Patriots allowed a goal. "I'm very proud of my girls tonight despite the poor play in the first half. The second half was the best fubol I've seen this program play since my arrival four years ago. If we can continue to play the way we did in the second half tonight we will be well on track to achieving our goals this year."

Mason (4-2-0) took just one fewer shot on goal than Maryland but the Terrapins (4-1-1) had six corner to just two for Mason. The lone goal of the contest came in the 34th minute when Nataly Arias scored on a give-and-go from Maureen Dowling. Arias' shot, which came after a run through the left center of the Mason defense, was her third of the year.

The goal ended a stretch of 324 minutes during which the Patriots had held the opposition scoreless. Kasey Davenport made three saves in the contest. Nilani Duarte, Jessica Paris and Rachel Wiggins had the Mason shots on goal.

The Patriots will attempt to climb back into the win column on Tuesday night when they host American at 7 p.m.
