George Mason University will once again take part in the BB&T Classic this basketball season as Mason, Maryland and George Washington will serve as host universities for the annual event that benefits Children's Charities Foundation. The 13th annual BB&T Classic will be a one-day event featuring six teams and it will take place on Sunday, December 2 at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C.

The Patriots will take on East Carolina with tip scheduled for 5 p.m. Prior to Mason's game the Colonials will take on Auburn with tip scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Following Mason's contest Maryland will take on VCU at 7:30 p.m.

This is the fourth consecutive season Mason has participated in the BB&T Classic. Over the previous three seasons Mason has a 1-3 mark in the event. The Classic has raised more than $7 million for charities in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area since it was founded in 1994.
