The women's soccer team held its annual Awards Dinner last month in conjunction with its Alumni Game and four Patriots, all rising seniors, were honored for their performance this past fall.

Laura Salichs was awarded the Lisa Berra Best Defensive Award, Rachel Wiggins was given the Lisa Gmitter Golden Boot Award, L.J. Williams was honored with the Yvonne Morris Inspirational Award and Kasey Davenport earned the Kim Maslin Best Goalkeeper Award.

Salichs was named first-team All-CAA and All-Virginia. She was a CAA Player of the Week during the season and she was selected to the Soccer Buzz National Elite Team of the Week. She was tied for third on the team with three assists. Lisa Berra was a two-time first-team All-CAA selection and one-time first-team All-Virginia. She won the CAA Commissioner's Academic Award four times and she is Mason's all-time leader in consecutive games started and played.

Wiggins was second-team All-CAA and All-Virginia and she tied for fifth in the CAA in points. She led the team in goals and scoring for the second straight season with nine goals and 23 points. She recorded a point in five straight matches, the fifth-longest streak in school history. She is currently tied for 10th in school history in scoring. Gmitter was one of 11 players chosen to the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer 25th Anniversary Team. She was Soccer America's Player of the Year in 1985, a four-time All-American (three times selected to the first team), the Offensive MVP of the 1983 NCAA Tournament and a three-time member of the NCAA All-Tournament Team. She finished her Mason career second all-time at Mason in goals and game-winning goals, third all-time in points, fifth all-time in assists and as a National Champion. She later was a member of the U.S. National Team.

Williams was named second-team All-CAA and she was second on the team in goals, with five, and tied for third in assists, with three. After sitting out the 2005 season with a medical redshirt, she was on the field for the season opener. Against Coastal Carolina, she recorded her first goal in nearly two years and she had the game-winning goal against Drexel. Morris was NSCAA All-Region and an Adidas Academic All-American. She is fifth all-time at Mason in shutouts, sixth all-time in goalkeeper minutes and she holds the school's single-season record for lowest goals-against-average.

Davenport started 16 games in net for Mason before missing the final three games due to injury. She tied for third in the CAA in shutouts and had a 5-7-1 record in net. She had 65 saves while playing 1,331 minutes. She saved 74.7 percent of the shots faced with a 1.49 goals-against average. She earned four shutouts and allowed one or fewer goals in 10 appearances. Maslin was a second-team All-American in 1986, the same year she was selected to the NCAA All-Tournament Team. She is third all-time at Mason in shutouts, fourth all-time in saves and goalkeeper minutes. She later was a member of the U.S. National Team.
