Mason-Fordham Game Notes (PDF)

The George Mason women's basketball team will look to move above .500 for the second time this season when it hosts Fordham on Saturday afternoon. Mason defeated the Rams last season in the Bronx, 59-42. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. at Patriot Center.

Admission to the game is $5 for adults and $2 for youth and senior citizens. The game will be broadcast live on Mason All-Access, where fans can catch live video and audio of the contest. On campus, the game can be heard live on http://www.wgmuradio.com.

Fordham comes to Fairfax searching for its first win of the season, as the Rams have amassed an 0-10 record. They are coming off of their winter exam break, and are led by Megan Mahoney, who is averaging nearly 11 points per game. Takita Earl has been Fordham's top rebounder, grabbing 7.4 boards per contest. The Rams are being outscored on average by 20.5 points per game this season.

Last Time Out...
Sophomore Rashauna Hobbs paced the George Mason women's basketball team with a career-high 18 points to lead the Patriots past American, 57-49, opening a four-game homestand on Wednesday evening at the Patriot Center. Mason leveled its season mark at 4-4 by snapping a two-game losing streak, while the Eagles fell to 6-5.

Home for the Holidays
After playing five of their first seven games on the road, Mason will have an opportunity to get comfortable at the Patriot Center over the next few weeks, as it will play four straight games at home. The stretch is Mason's longest homestand of the season, and matches last year's season-long of four games. The Patriots are undefeated this season at home, earning a 3-0 record at Patriot Center thus far.

Mason vs. The Atlantic 10
The Patriots have amassed a 35-46 record against the current membership of the Atlantic 10 Conference. Three weeks ago, Mason dropped a 71-55 decision at A-10 member Richmond. Last season, Mason defeated its lone A-10 opponent, Fordham, by a 59-42 margin at Rose Hill Gym in the Bronx.

Clutch From The Charity Stripe
Lateisha Wade has found herself in many important late-game free throw situations, and has performed well, connecting on 12-of-14 (.818 ) attempts from the line in the final five minutes of regulation this season. As a team, Mason is 35-for-48 (.729) in the final five minutes of regulation from the foul line.

A Hobbsian Effort
Sophomore guard Rashauna Hobbs had a career day on Wednesday against American, setting or tying seven career highs. Among them, Hobbs scored 18 points which shattered her previous best of 12, set earlier this season against Longwood. Hobbs has reached double figures four times this year.

Up Next...
Mason will enjoy a week off for the holiday break and return to the court on Dec. 30 when it hosts Winthrop at 1:30 p.m., a game that will be televised live by Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN).
