George Mason senior Will Thomas was named preseason first-team All-CAA earlier this month and on Wednesday he received another honor as he was selected to the collegeinsider.com preseason Mid-Major All-America Team.

The college basketball web site selected one team consisting of 25 players. Division I coaches and NBA scouts provided input to the collegeinsider.com staff which selected the team. Thomas was one of 10 frontcourt players selected to the squad. He was joined by one fellow CAA player, Frank Elegar of Drexel.

Eric Maynor, VCU's guard who was named preseason CAA Player of the Year, was selected to the collegeinsider.com preseason All-America Team, which was comprised of 21 players, four of whom were from mid-major programs.

Thomas enters his senior season as Mason's all-time leader in field-goal percentage. He is also 25th all-time in scoring, 11th all-time in rebounding and 13th all-time in blocks.

The men's basketball season begins on Friday, Nov. 9 as the Patriots host Vermont at 7 p.m. That game will be televised on MASN.
