BOSTON - George Mason dropped a 3-0 decision to the Northeastern Huskies in Colonial Athletic Association women's volleyball action at Solomon Court in Boston, Mass. on Friday night.
The loss drops the Patriots to 5-8 overall and 2-5 in CAA matches. The Huskies improve to 7-7, and 4-2 in conference play.
The Huskies outhit the Patriots .417 to .189, racking up 26 more kills. Junior Kira Batura starred for Northeastern, recording match-highs of 20 kills and 22 digs on a .421 hitting percentage. Senior Whitney Turner finished with a match-high .533 hitting percentage and nine kills.
Despite the loss, Mason received excellent performances from freshman setter Katie Corcoran, who tallied a match-high 30 assists, and junior outside hitter Jaqueline Kohler, who added a team-high 13 kills. Junior libero Kristen Byler had 16 digs in the match.
George Mason will look to get back on the winning track when they play again on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Hofstra.
