Fairfax, Va.--George Mason University freshman goalkeeper Sean Kelley (Lexington, Ky.) earned Colonial Athletic Association Brine co-Rookie of the Week honors for his efforts this past weekend as announced by the conference office. Kelley shares this honor with Pedro Pereira of UNC Wilmington.
Kelley collected two shutouts on the weekend at the Yale Classic to put his career total to three after just five starts. He tallied six saves in Mason's 1-0 overtime win against Yale on Sept. 8 and one in the Patriots' 1-0 victory over Dartmouth two days later. After posting a goals against average of 0.00 on the weekend to help lead Mason to the Yale Classic title, Kelley was named tournament MVP.
This marks the second time this year in which a Patriot has earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors as freshman Richard Edgar (Mechanicsville, Md.) earned the honor on Aug. 28.
