Sept. 1, 2006
The women's soccer match between George Mason and Georgetown originally scheduled for 3 p.m. on Friday has been postponed due to inclement weather. Mason and Georgetown were scheduled to meet as part of the D.C. Invitational which also features American and Duquesne. The match between those schools was also postponed on Friday.
Mason's match with the Hoyas will now be played on Saturday at 3 p.m. with the location switching to Mason. The Patriots will host Georgetown for the second time in three years as Mason gets to add an eighth home game to the schedule. The Patriots will now play eight home games, eight road games and three neutral-site games.
Also switching locations is the opening match of the tournament as American will take on Duquesne at George Mason Stadium at Noon. American has never won a match at George Mason Stadium but the Eagles have never faced a team other than the Patriots in Fairfax.
Sunday's schedule that pits Georgetown vs. Duquesne and Mason vs. American remains unchanged. The Patriots will take on the Eagles at Noon at Georgetown with the Hoyas facing Duquesne at 3 p.m.
Both of Mason's contests can be followed on the Internet as live stats will be broadcast on GoMason.com.
